    We are looking for outgoing, personable, instructors. You must be able to work in a fast-paced camp environment with youth. We believe that our approach to learning is a tool that will help shape the worldview of future innovators. You will interact with their curriculum—planning, reflecting daily and viewing improvements as opportunities. We value having divergent thinkers who bring various experiences and viewpoints to the table. College students majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, Game Design, or Education are great candidates. Ideal candidates will have experience with Robotics/Coding/ Game Design and/or Minecraft.
     
    iSTEAM Studio is looking for talented instructors for a cutting-edge SUMMER CAMP. We have an exciting teaching opportunity in Peoria IL. Below is more information on the upcoming programs.

    Camp Information:

    Summer Camp Courses Game Design / Robotics / 3D Modeling and printing /Circuits Camp for ages 6 to 16 years old.  Week-long classes in Minecraft, Game Design, Lego Robotics to students ages 6-15.

    Camps Starting June 3rd Till August,10th 2019

    Schedule: Monday – Friday

    Morning Session: 7:45 am-12:00pm   and Afternoon Session: 12 PM – 5 PM

    Job Description:
    • Instructors may work anytime between Morning / Afternoon session or Full Day options,  Monday through Friday.
    • Setup days: Instructors must participate in two mandatory training and set up days in the days before camp starts.
    • Camp cleanup: Participate in cleaning and packing up camp for an additional 5 hours a week, typically an extra 1-2 hours at the end of each day during the final week of camp. On the last day of camp, all staff stay on site until cleanup is complete, which will be 6 pm at the earliest
    • An instructor will work directly with an assigned class of approximately 6-10 students
    • Follow the daily curriculum / Bring innovative ideas to engage kids.
    • Always Supervise children to maintain their health and safety.
    • Provide excellent customer service to all children, families, co-workers, and community members.
    • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with co-workers/teammates to ensure the best quality program and services
    • Maintain a clean, safe, pleasant, and enriched environment
    • Assist with opening and closing procedures each day including room set-up.
    • Serve as a positive role model for elementary or Middle school students. Conduct should be respectful and emphasize appropriate positive values.
     
    Minimum Requirements:
    • Experience in Classroom Management
    • Ability to speak and write Standard English.
    • Competent to instruct several technology camps as needed. Tech camps include Robotics, Coding (Scratch, Java, Python, C++), Minecraft, Esports (Fortnite, Overwatch, League of Legends), Game Design, 3D Printing, App Development.
    • Ability to think on your feet and be creative to keep kids engaged, while teaching.
    • You must be very punctual and reliable. Students must always be supervised.
    • Be a positive role model.
    • You need self-confidence, energy, creativity and be assertive enough to control a class of high energy elementary age kids.
    • Strong organization skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to communicate clearly, maturely and compassionately with families
    • Ability to maintain an excellent work ethic, a high level of energy and exceptional enthusiasm all day, every day, for the duration of the summer.
    Compensation:
    We are committed to competitively compensating staff. 
    • Lead Instructors are compensated at a regular hourly rate of $10.00-15.00 per hour, dependent on education level, and courses taught
    • Summer staff positions are temporary, seasonal positions and do not include health benefits or paid vacation time
    • Payroll is processed weekly; payments will be issued, and paystubs made available the Friday after each camp week.
