The Peoria Park District is hosting Peoria’s oldest running race, the Turkey Trot, at 1:00pm at Detweiller Park on November 19. Just as turkeys are a Thanksgiving tradition, so is this 4-mile race, now in its 47th year! The race will take place rain, shine or snow. The top two finishers in each division will receive a trophy and a turkey, compliments of Kroger. Third-place finishers in each division will receive a trophy. All entrants will receive a Turkey Trot t-shirt. There will also be a ½-mile Youth Fun Run immediately before the start of the run.

The fee for Turkey Trot is $16 through November 15; $18 after November 15; $14 for IVS members; and $2 for the Youth Fun Run (no t-shirt). Registration is at the Noble Center in Lakeview Park. For more information, contact Lester Hudson at 309-681-2866.
