Peoria, IL, March 20, 2019 - Fortress Bank is pleased to announce that Nick Esser and Jenny Garlach have recently joined the bank as Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer and Treasury Management Specialist, respectively.
Nick Esser is a graduate of Illinois State University with a double major in Finance and History. He is also a graduate of the Peoria Chamber of Commerce Leadership School and Graduate School of Banking at UW Madison. Nick has worked for regional and community banks in Central Illinois as a commercial banker, working with hundreds of small- to medium-size business. He has worked with clients across numerous industries, including manufacturing, retail, professional practices, and real estate investments.
Nick has volunteered with nonprofit organizations including Rebuilding Together, Junior Achievement, Morton Chamber of Commerce, Morton Economic Development Council, Greater Peoria Economic Development Council and Alzheimer’s Association of Central Illinois. He is currently Board Chair of the Susan G. Komen Memorial Affiliate and a board member of Rotary Club of Morton where he and his wife Carly have been active in the youth exchange program as host parents.
Jenny Garlach received her BA degree from the University of Wyoming and a Master’s degree from the University of Northern Colorado. Over more than 30 years, Jenny has gained valuable experience in a variety of environments. Jenny co-owned a distribution business where she managed the accounts payables and receivables, payroll and also handled human resource responsibilities. Most recently, she was the Executive Director of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley.
As a Treasury Management Specialist, Jenny guides commercial customers through every step of establishing commercial accounts. This allows customers to take full advantage of Fortress Bank’s cash management systems, making it possible to easily manage and maximize their funds.
Jenny is a board member of the First Tee of the Quad Cities and Unity Point – Robert Young Center and is a volunteer co-chairperson on the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Mississippi Valley Golf Invitational Committee.
