Peoria, IL – The IHSA Boys Basketball State Tournament and the March Madness Experience returns to the Peoria Civic Center over the next two weekends. Class 1A and 2A teams will compete inside Carver Arena over the course of March 7-9, 2019 and Class 3A and 4A will play March 14-16, 2019. Each weekend will follow a similar schedule of events at the Peoria Civic Center:
Thursdays - Three-Point Shooting Competition: starting at 5:00pm, free for the public to attend
March Madness Experience open 5:30-8:30pm
Fridays - Semifinals: Session 1 with games at 11:00am and 1:00pm, Session 2 with games at 5:30pm and 7:15pm March Madness Experience open 10:00am-8:30pm
Saturdays - Finals: Session 1 with games at 11:00am and 12:45pm, Session 2 with games at 5:30pm and 7:15pm March Madness Experience open 10:00am-6:30pm

General admission tickets for all games in the state tournament are available in the upper bowl and select sections of the lower bowl. Tickets are $11 per session and include admission to the March Madness Experience. Fans may purchase tickets at the Toyota Box Office inside the Peoria Civic Center, online at Ticketmaster.com, and by phone at 1-800-745-3000.
Just across the hallway from the state basketball games is the annual March Madness Experience that fills the facility’s exhibit halls. This is a family-orientated extravaganza of fun, interactive games, historical exhibits and a true basketball experience for all ages. Admission to the March Madness Experience is just $2 for the general public or FREE to fans with a game ticket from the IHSA State Tournament.
“The Peoria Civic Center is committed to providing guests with a safe and enjoyable experience,” said Rik Edgar, General Manager of the Peoria Civic Center. “We anticipate two busy weekends in downtown Peoria and encourage guests to allow extra time for traffic, parking, tickets and security.”
To ensure the safety of all attendees, the venue will be utilizing metal detectors at all five entrances to secure both Carver Arena and the exhibit halls. Prior to arriving at the Peoria Civic Center, fans are encouraged to read the entrance and security information at www.peoriaciviccenter.com/events/ihsa-march-madness. Any prohibited items confiscated at the entry points will be discarded.
According to the Peoria Area Convention and Visitors Bureau, the greater Peoria area is host to 14 annual IHSA events, drawing over 56,000 visitors in attendance and generating over $7 million in estimated economic impact.
