Leadership Changes at OSF Saint Francis
OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center and OSF HealthCare have announced changes in their administrative leadership team in the central region. Dr. Michael Cruz, who has led the hospital as president since January 2015, is now the chief executive officer for the central region. It’s a role he’s held on an interim basis since January of this year. The central region includes OSF Saint Francis and OSF HealthCare Children’s Hospital of Illinois, as well as the broader geographic area to the north and south of the Peoria tri-county area.
Dr. Cruz will be responsible, among other things, for ensuring that clinical and administrative services are organized to meet the needs of those we serve, and will be accountable for the delivery of improved health care to our patients. He’s been at OSF Saint Francis since 1987 when he began as a resident in the emergency medicine program.
Stepping into the role of president for OSF HealthCare Saint Francis Medical Center is Robert Anderson, who had been serving as chief operating officer. He will be responsible for aligning the hospital with the overall strategy of OSF HealthCare, while continuing to ensure that high quality and cost-effective health care is delivered to our patients. Anderson began his career here in 1981 as a medical technologist in the laboratory. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology from Eureka College, and earned a Master’s of Science degree in Health Services Administration from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Illinois.
Both Cruz and Anderson assumed their new roles November 5.
