The Peoria Civic Center has teamed up with the Salvation Army’s annual Coats for Kids campaign. Now through Friday, December 8, 2017, the community is invited to drop off new or used coats in children and adult sizes at the Peoria Civic Center. Mittens and scarves are also accepted. Collection barrels are located in the PCC’s Great Hall near Guest Services and the Toyota Box Office, as well as in the lobby of the Theater.

“We are excited to help the Salvation Army with a cause that gives back to the Peoria community,” said Anne Clayton, General Manager of the Peoria Civic Center.

Since the Coats for Kids program started over 20 years ago, Central Illinois residents have donated with great generosity. Each year, the program provides about 2,800 coats to area children in need. Distribution of the donated coats will begin on November 6, 2017 at The Salvation Army Corps Community Center, located at 2907 W. Nebraska Avenue in Peoria. After the week-long distribution, the remaining coats will be available for parents to pick-up when signing up for Christmas assistance at the Salvation Army.
