For the last few years, the South Side Office of Concern (SSOC) has been undergoing a re-branding process to identify a new name and brand that better reflects the agency, their work, and their values. The re-branding effort is critical to the organization's future success for the following reasons:
- SSOC no longer has much of a physical presence on the South Side of Peoria and in fact serves a much larger geographic area that encompasses four counties in central Illinois.
- SSOC is consistently and frequently confused with another not-for-profit in the community.
- SSOC is an innovator and a leader in the social services and supportive housing fields and the current name and brand does not reflect that role.
SSOC is holding a press conference on Tuesday, April 30 at 9:30 am at the Glendale Commons to share their new name and brand with the community.
About South Side Office of Concern:
SSOC, founded in 1982, is the largest provider of supportive housing dedicated to eliminating homelessness in our community. With 159 units of housing, SSOC is taking people off of the streets - veterans, families, children, and single adults - placing them in permanent homes. Providing a place to live is only the beginning. SSOC works to ensure each family or individual is able to maintain their home with services and support dedicated to helping them build self-sufficiency and the skills they need to change their lives.
