Proceeds from the event will benefit the programs of Phoenix. Phoenix was founded in 1982 as the South Side Office of Concern and has a long history of serving populations of individuals with limited resources and support systems, including those with severe mental illness, developmental disabilities, and other special needs. Phoenix is the largest provider of supportive housing dedicated to eliminating homelessness in our community. With 159 units of housing and the area's only team devoted to homeless outreach, Phoenix is taking people off of the streets - veterans, families, children, and single adults - and placing them in permanent homes. Providing a place to live is only the beginning. Phoenix works to ensure each family or individual is able to maintain their home with services and support dedicated to helping them build self-sufficiency and the skills they need to change their lives. In April, 2019, the organization launched a new brand and officially changed its name to Phoenix Community Development Services.
