The Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce is the leading voice and resource for business in the region. That means we are here to both represent the interests of the business community to area elected officials and bodies and to help member companies represent themselves. Whether we are sharing information with members about pending legislation at the state or federal level or advocating before the City Council or meeting with State or Federal legislators on key issues, we work to make sure that member interests are understood by elected officials.

The Chamber hosts several events that bring key information to members and give them direct access to elected officials. We also keep members up to date on pending legislation through the Chamber Communicator and the Chamber Report. We work collaboratively with other chambers in the region on transportation issues and projects to make sure that our region has the infrastructure necessary to support the flow of commerce. And we work regionally on and joint legislative agenda that we then lobby for in Springfield, not just with our area legislators but with others who are in key positions of influence.

In April of 2011, the Chamber decided it was necessary to increase our activity for and with our members in the General Assembly. To do that, Doug Crew of Brown and Crew Public Strategies was engaged. Crew is the former manager of government affairs for Caterpillar Inc. so comes to the chamber with a wealth of experience.
