  • Veterans Symposium: Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Bradley University’s Renaissance Coliseum

Congressman Aaron Schock and Senator Mark Kirk are partnering together to conduct a Veterans Symposium on Wednesday, August 14, 2013 from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm at Bradley University’s Renaissance Coliseum, located in Peoria, IL.

We are used to hearing about Job Fairs for our area veterans, but this will be much more than that.  In addition to the Job Fair portion of the event, we have asked that representatives from different Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) offices be present to speak one on one with our veterans.  We have requested that individuals from the Chicago VA Regional Office (health care benefits), St. Louis VA Regional Office (education benefits), Milwaukee VA Regional Office (pension management center), St. Paul VA (debt management center), National Personal Records Center (military records archival center), Winston-Salem VA (home loan center), and many other departments within the VA system join us for the event.

We are asking that you join us and have a booth at our event to speak with our veterans regarding possible job opportunities, benefits of your agency, mental health services, educational enrollment possibilities, etc. that your agency/company offers.  We hope to have 100 employers, non-profit organizations and government agencies present at the event.

We hope that this event will be very well attended and that it will be very beneficial not only to our veterans but also to all of you.  With your involvement, we feel that this will happen.
