  • Washington Business Recovery Fund

If you are looking for a way to help, the Washington Chamber of Commerce has started a Business Recovery Fund. This fund is going to be used for a city-wide marketing campaign for Washington. While many Washington businesses were not directly hit, with so many residents hit, especially in the mid to upper class level, many of their patrons are not eating out, shopping or enjoying luxuries that usually support these businesses. Instead the Washington Chamber has started a marketing campaign outside of the community in the surrounding areas to bring them in to shop.

    Washington, IL 61571

This is a fund similar to what the Joplin Chamber did during their aftermath. Similar to them, the funds will be used to create 'We are Open Signs' for businesses, as well as a brochure for surrounding areas that will list Washington stores and a description of what you can find in them. The Washington Chamber is also going to get 'Shop Washington' buttons made for the surrounding community employees to wear. If you are interested in getting a kit for your business that contains posters, petitions to 'Visit.Shop.Eat. Washington' pledge cards and table tents, please contact Chevie Ruder via e-mail at chevie@washingtoncoc.com
