Explore a deeper understanding of when and how to apply a variety of leadership styles. A DiSC Assessment will be given. Continue the series with Leading Teams, R-E-S-P-E-C-T, and Over & Above Customer Service. Leadership Workshops offered on Thursdays from 1-4 PM. Cost is $105 each, or $355 for the 4-course series. The location for the series is ICC Perley Building downtown Peoria.

Hoops for Haiti03/17/2010 - 03/20/201017th thru 20thWomens NJCAA Tournament Players Shoot Hundred Dollar Hoops for Haiti March 17-20Illinois Central College, East Peoria, is preparing to host the National Jr. College Athletic Associations Division II National Tournament. The event will be held in the Lorene Ramsey Gymnasium on the E. Peoria Campus March 17-20, Hoops for Haiti is a charity event designed to raise money and supplies for Haitians in need. Thoughout the tournament, player from participating teams will have the opportunity to shoot a Hoops for Haiti free throw. For each shot made, $100 will be donated to the Hoops for Haiti fund courtesy of Azura, a womens bautique located at 4703 N. University, Peoria. All Hoops for Haiti funds will be donated to Friends of the Children of Haiti. Friends of the Children of Haiti is a non-profit organization based in Peoria, with the mission to bring medicine and basic healthcare to the people of Haiti. Members volunteer services and medical assistance to Haitains in need.Special highlight on Thursday March 18, is a Hoops for Haiti supply drive. Supplies for Haiti will be collected at the door and will be donated to Midwest Food Bank, Peoria, for delivery to Haitians in need. Supplies will be used to create hygiene kits which consist of a hand towel, wash cloth, comb, fingernail clipper, regular sized bar soap, toothbruth, regular size toothbrush, and adhesive bandages, all inside a one-gallon zip-lock bag. Other items accepted include first aid kits, flashlights, batteries, medical gloves, dressing gauze and bandages. All items must be new. Tournament fans can bring any of these items and place them in the Midwest Food Bank bins onsite. Red Cross Peoria class: CPR Made Simple03/19/20108 - 9 a.m.Learn to save lives! The NEW Red Cross CPR Made Simple course provides individuals with a one-hour overview of the critical skills that may help them save the life of a family member, friend or co-worker. In this simplified training session, lecture time is kept to a minimum so that participants can focus on hands-on practice of CPR/AED skills. CPR Made Simple makes it easy for anyone to learn the basics of CPR/AED. This course is designed for people who want to learn the basics but do not need CPR certification. COST IS $20 PER PERSON. THIS IS A NON-CERTIFICATION COURSE.

A Taste of UIS Peoria03/23/20105 - 7 pmCircle of Violence is the focus of A Taste Of UIS Peoria program sponsored by the Peoria Chapter of the UIS Alumni Association. The event will be held from 5 - 7 pm on Tuesday, March 23 at the UIS Peoria Center, ICC Perley Bldg, Room 203, 115 SW Adams, Peoria. Two UIS Peoria Center alumni will share information about the growing challenge of gangs in the Peoria area. Learn what is being done to combat this problem on the street and in the correctional system. Panelists include Detective Elizabeth Blair, Peoria Police Department and Lt. Jason Haynes, Federal Bureau of Prisons. Deputy Ronda Guyton, Peoria County Seriffs Department will moderate. From 5 - 6 pm there will be a demonstration of high end video conferencing equipment recently installed to be used in the delivery of courses between Peoria and Springfield.The program is open to the public, however, reservations are requested.
