Vivid colors, shiny beads, a mirage of acts and lots of fun……it’s Peoria’s own Carnivale  2012! This year marks the 10th Annual Mardi Gras celebration  to benefit the Greater Illinois Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS).

On Friday, March 16, 2012, the NMSS will host Carnivale at the Par-a-dice Hotel.  Guests will bask in the revelry, savor the food, flavor and the flair of musicians, entertainers, raffle and silent auction.  Proceeds from Carnivale benefit people in Central Illinois and throughout the state who face life with MS.  Providing help for today and hope for the future.

Multiple Sclerosis interrupts the flow of information from the brain to the body.  Every hour someone is newly diagnosed with this unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system. Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with more  than twice as many women than men contract the disease.   More than 20,000 people in the state of Illinois live with MS.  Today, there is no known cure.
